Would you have to put down a beloved pet, if she's diagnosed with a disease or condition such as diabetes or arthritis that requires long-term treatments and medication? Could you afford the cost of surgeries if a pet suffers a traumatic accident?
A pet can cost as much as $20,000 during its lifetime, with much of this cost coming from vet visits, medicines and treatments, according to NAPPS partner Veterinary Pet Insurance.
With a pet insurance policy, you'll not only save money, but possibly the life of a pet. Consider the case of Sadie who developed bladder stones when she was two years old. Because her persons had a VPI insurance policy, they were reimbursed $802 of her $1,220 diagnostics and treatment fees. When she was later diagnosed with an ear infection, her persons reduced her treatment costs from $125 to just $12.50!
Pet bills add up, and surgeries that cost $5,000 or $10,000 could force you to have to make some difficult decisions. Pet health insurance not only covers treatments, but preventative measures, as well, so you can reduce the risk of suffering from the many ways pets can become sick. We offer a 5% discount on the already low-cost pet health insurance through Veterinary Pet Insurance Company to all of our clients! Benefits of this health insurance for your pet include:
Complete Coverage The VPI Superior Plan takes care of all your pet’s major medical needs, and CareGuard ® coverage –a loaded menu of benefits for your pet’s long-term preventative care –provides reimbursements for vaccinations, dental care, annual wellness exams, blood panels, urinalysis, spay or neuter and much more. Best of all, you can use your own vet with no pre-approval necessary.
Easy to Understand VPI policies come with a complete benefit schedule listing the reimbursement allowances available to you during your policy’s one-year term. Allowances are categorized and itemized by diagnosis (e.g., fractures) and treatment (e.g., splint). The full reimbursement allowance is available every time your pet suffers a new, unrelated injury, less your $50 per incident deductible.
Reimbursements are Easy All you have to do is pay your veterinarian at the time of service, fill out a simple, one-page VPI claim form with your pet’s diagnosis, then fax or send the claim form to VPI for processing. You will then receive a check for eligible expenses.
We offer all of our clients a one-year free membership to Amber Alert for Pets! Amber alert for Pets is a national pet registry. You register your pets so that in the event they become lost, a regional amber alert blast e-mail will be sent on your behalf.
At the very least, you can add your name to the registry to receive lost pet alerts. You will receive no other e-mails, and only be contacted when there is a lost pet in your area.
We also offer a $1 lost pet locator tag to all of our clients ($20 regular membership). You will also receive a valuable, free gift. Many pets are euthanized each year when shelters are not able to locate the pet parent in time because the pet parent was unreachable.
The Pet Protector offers tags with a national, toll-free number (1-800-Help4Pets), and stands ready to take any calls regarding your pet, 24/7. They will contact you to let you know your pet has been found.
Free E-mail Notification If you lose or find a pet visit the Center for Lost Pets to post information about the pet. If anyone posts at the site that they've lost or found a pet, and it's a match to yours, you'll receive an e-mail alerting you to the match.
